Dianna Robinson
I grew up outdoors in the forests, lakes, and streams of northern Michigan. I graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor's in biology and history, and then spent two years living in Edinburgh, Scotland to get my Master's degree in environmental sustainability. After grad school, I spent a year in Helena as an AmeriCorps volunteer with the Montana Conservation Corps - which is when I fell in love with Montana. I knew that I wanted to make Helena my home - but it took me a few years to get back to the Queen City. After MCC, I took an internship with the Office of Surface Mining in Charleston, West Virginia. I then moved to Boston for a few years to work for an environmental non-profit. City life wasn't quite for me though, so I moved back to northern Michigan where I was the Administrator for my county's Conservation District (and as a beer slinger at my local brewery!). However, I missed Helena, so I accepted a job with the State of Montana where I've now worked for several years.
I've been interested in real estate since I was young. I used to draw floor plans for my dream house(s), and wherever my family went I would find a local real estate circular and pick out what I thought were the best houses/deals. My parents actually dabbled in real estate investment while I was growing up, which only added to my interest in real estate. I bought my first home in Helena in 2018 and I loved learning the process, and what it takes to own your own home. During the pandemic I had several friends ask my advice and help on their search for a home. I set them up with my realtor, sent them listings, talked to them about financing, and went with them on house tours. So when I realized I wanted a career change, real estate felt like the perfect fit. My background in environmental and conservation work has actually provided me with a unique insight into Montana water rights, building site considerations, and energy and water efficient technologies. I've been an agent for less than a year, but I'm incredibly excited to help people find the right home in our beautiful part of Montana!
