The American Bar and Grill is one of the most ionic establishments in the area. Loved by locals and travelers alike, Coulee Runs have been part of our culture for generations, and the experience lives on! Car clubs, motorcycle tours, wedding parties and even bicyclers make the American part of their trips. For over a century, the American has been known for delicious food, especially their sandwiches piled high with cold cuts, their burgers that are a cut above, and ice cold drinks to wash them down. To keep things interesting, there are weekly and monthly specials as well as Bingo Night and other special events throughout the year. Like all historic landmarks, the American has needed maintenance and updating. It has recently been brought into the modern age with new wiring, mechanicals, roofing, plumbing kitchen equipment and furniture. New paint and varnish, point of sale system, video security, tap system and televisions are all improvements made over the last three years. This is truly a turnkey operation. The kitchen is large and efficient, there is plenty of storage for groceries and supplies. The bathrooms are updated and the interior floor plan is versatile. Add gaming machines, pool table, darts or simply take advantage of plenty of seating for diners or cocktails. There is an outside seating area for warm summer nights, and there have been bands and events both inside and outside. The American is well loved and appreciated, and people are eager to celebrate in this historic venue for another hundred years!
